The Oak, Hickory, Red Cedar type has had little harvest activity in the last 15 years. A sawtimber harvest could be advised in 10- 15 years. Significant sawtimber growth will occur over that time period. There is currently significant merchantable cedar throughout the area as well. This area would be ideal for a wood-mizer sawmill type setup to saw small hardwood logs and cedar. Harvest activity has occurred in the “Hardwood Bottom” and the “Open Canopy” Timber Types in the last 3 years. This area will have harvestable timber in approximately 15 years in the hardwood bottom and 25 years in the Open Canopy Type. There are significant amounts of 10” Black Walnut throughout the hardwood bottom that will quickly grow into the sawtimber category.
